From the article: A man from Sweden survives today – partly – thanks to a drone. The 71-year-old suffered a heart attack during a snowstorm in December and was resuscitated by a nearby doctor after a drone flew over a defibrillator, Everdron reported Tuesday.

A person with a heart attack needs help within 10 minutes to survive. Everdrone’s Emergency Medical Aerial Delivery (EMADE) service is designed to deliver help as quickly as possible – it allows emergency dispatchers to send a drone carrying the device to a caller’s home, before the ambulance arrives home to save lives. In the case of this particular patient, it took three minutes for the services to deliver the defibrillator to his home. A passerby, who was a doctor on his way to work, used AED on a patient after giving CPR.

The drone was developed in conjunction with the Karolinska Institutet, SOS alarm and the Center for Resuscitation Science in the region Vastra Gotland.
