Hello and welcome to the final of the Africa Cup of Nations.
I am Faras Ghani and I will bring you live updates of the final taking place in Cameroon’s capital Yaounde where we have Oluwashina Okeleji are Olembe Stadium and daniel ekonde among the supporters.
Here is Daniel among some Senegalese supporters who gathered outside the embassy in Yaounde while waiting for buses to take them to the stadium.
Looks like we’ll have a decent Senegalese turnout at Olembe Stadium.

Head to head
Egypt and Senegal met on 12 occasions with the Pharaohs winning six of them, the last victory coming almost 16 years ago to this day.
Route to the final
Neither side caught fire with all the guns at the start of the tournament.
Egypt scored just two goals in their three group matches and faced Guinea-Bissau and Sudan 1-0 after losing their opening tournament 1-0 to Nigeria.
Senegal had two deadlocks against Guinea and Malawi following a 1-0 victory over Zimbabwe in the opening match.
But both sides had just picked up from there.
What you need to know about the AFCON final
Egypt will be looking for a record-breaking eighth AFCON title. Senegal will try to go one better after losing the 2019 final against Algeria.
The final will also see one of world football’s most exciting attacking duos take on each other while Mohamed Salah leads Egypt against a Senegal team led by Sadio Mane.
The match will be played at Yaounde’s Olembe Stadium, where eight people died in a stampede on January 25 – a tragedy that overshadowed the tournament in Cameroon.
