ASUS’s gaming laptop From work to home is caught up in the era. The PC maker unveiled its ROG laptop line in early 2022, and the focus for many has probably been an update. Zephyrus G14 (Shown above) that finally, finally includes a webcam – with a Windows Hello-friendly infrared, no less. ASUS says engage gamers haven’t noticed anything in the past about the absence of a camera, but a combination of compressed panels and smaller cameras has made the inclusion possible. Whatever the argument, it would be welcome (or buy one) for anyone who has had to leave the G14 External webcam) To participate in virtual classrooms and meetings.
Of course there are lots of performance-related upgrades. The rebuilt Zephryus G14 uses AMD’s new Ryzen 6000-Series chip (up to Ryzen 96900HS), up to 32GB of DDR5 memory, and dedicated Radeon graphics up to RX 6800S. The new steam chamber, CPU and GPU also have improved cooling for liquid metal, a dust filter and high-air-flow fans. You’ll also find a slimmer overall display bezel, a flashy mini-LED lid with a 50 percent larger trackpad and 19 percent more light and smooth animation. It is too early to say whether the G14 battery meets ASUS’s demands for 10-plus hours of video playback, but USB-C faster charging and GPU thermal design power (from 100W to 65W) will reduce the amount of time you need to plug in.
ASUS has not released the price of the Zephyrus G14 as of this writing, but you will have the option of 144Hz 1080p and 120Hz 1440p screens and you can spring for more economical components like Ryzen 5 6600HS or Radeon RX07.
There are other laptops in the store. New WNW two 16 (middle image) builds on dual-screen concepts with some unique display techniques. If you spring for the 120Hz 4K main panel, you can switch to 1080p at 240Hz Thanks to a clustering strategy – you can trade the resolution for speed. You’ll also find a tweaked second-screen process that makes for more “seamless” integration with the initial display. The G14’s Ryzen 6000-series CPUs, liquid metal-enhanced cooling and IR cameras have made their way into the Duo, though you’ll be using NVIDIA graphics (up to the new RTX 3080 Ti).
Other laptops aren’t as eye-catching, but can still be itchy for gamers on the go. ROG Flow Z13 (below) is a Surface ProFor the 13.4-inch detachable gamer crowd, such as the 12th-generen Intel Core i9, a 4K screen and RTX 3050 Ti video, where the Strix G15 and G17 are the more popular 15- and 17-inch gaming portable leaps and bounds with the new AMD processor and NVIDIA graphics. Although price and availability are unknown here, we expect machines like the Duo and Flow to carry premiums for reasons of their still-rare form.
