Cobra Kai Season four is Now out of the world And it’s another exciting, wonder-filled ride in the world The Karate Kid. Daniel Laruso (Ralph Macio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Jabka) have teamed up to bring down Cobra Kai and its Sensei, John Chris (Martin Cove). Chris hired Her best friend is Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) For the war. Among them are Tory (Payton List) and Sam (Mary Mauser), as well as Robbie (Tanner Buchanan) and Miguel (Zolo Mariduena), all leading the way in The All Valley, the mother of all karate tournaments.
Not that That’s right How to play it all out, if you know you’re done Cobra Kai Season four and if you have, we’ve talked to co-producers and producers John Harwitz, Hayden Schlossberg and Josh Held to talk more about what you want to hear from them. Talked to io9 three weeks ago About how they made the biggest decision of the season.
How did they settle under the pressure of Terry Silver?
Coming out of season three and season four, the biggest change in Cobra kai It had a role Karate Kid Part III The villain Terry Silver. It was huge for a bunch of reasons (Details here), But the show immediately shatters your expectations that Silver has changed. In fact, he hangs up to Chris’s call from last season. So we asked the producers, how did Silver get to the final from where he again framed Chris for attacking Stringer (Paul Walter Hauser) to regain control of Cobra Cay?
“So we’ve all been giant fans of Terry Silver from the beginning,” John Hurwitz told io9. “It simply came to our notice then Karate Kid3 E.g. But his character, he had such a presence and it all started like, ‘Well, we know its flaws. Karate Kid3 And we know he’s doing some crazy things in that movie. ‘ So the first up was ‘Okay, did he go that route?’ And how can you continue on that path and survive, you know? Or will not be imprisoned in the shelter of the madman? So, at first, we asked, ‘Well, what was the explanation?’ Drugs had a role in this.
“If you look Karate Kid3 And the more you think about cocaine, the more meaningful it becomes, “added Hayden Schlossberg.
“Okay,” Hurwitz continued. “So it starts with looking back and being like, ‘OK, he was out of reservation and we want to bring him in and try to ground the story.’ So we want, ‘Well, a guy like that, some things came back to bite him. He was corrupt then. He had his legal problems and in the end Karate Kid3 Things didn’t work out for her and Chris. We established in our series that Chris is gone, so his best friend abandoned him. So we took him on a ride during the holidays of our show to take him to a place where he has moved on in life and he is a rich man. He is living a beautiful life and a peaceful life and doing charity work and living that way. “
“But there was something missing in his life, and this is something that Chris sees for himself immediately and is able to slowly seduce him and bring that snake back ৷ and once he enters it’s like a drug. He’s back to Cobra Kai.” He’s trying to do it right. But why would Daniel Laruso believe that? Why would Daniel believe that he was in a crazy psychopath? Karate Kid3 That ‘Oh, he’s coming and apologizing for the past?’ Ballsheet, if you’re really there. We see as a listener how he has changed, perhaps, in certain ways, but then Daniel is the way he reacts and Terry Silver is the kind of guy who just doesn’t necessarily just chill with it. He’s just going to drive her further. “
Why did Terry Silver betray Chris in the final?
Hurwitz continues …
“We thought there was an interesting dynamic to be explored between these two older people who have experience of this shared war together and their push and pull with ideology and how to move forward with this dojo,” Hurwitz said. “And in a sense, Chris is threatening Silver in a certain way. He was her defender and her best friend, but also a man who was always superior to her in a sense. And if you push a guy far enough, especially one who has studied cobra kai all his life, you can finally get a bit. And towards the end of that turn, like we have nothing more to choose from than when Terry Silver almost seems to hear our composer’s score as he dances to sort of his victory. What we did in the series this season with Terry Silver was one of our favorites. “
How do they decide who is going to fight in the All Valley and who will take home the trophies in the end?
The other big story starting from the third season is that Dojora will fight in the All Valley Karate Tournament. But in order to make that tournament emotionally satisfying, producers need to be careful about who has fought throughout the tournament and, ultimately, who will fight and who will win in the final. Spoiler alert, fights Robbie Hawk, wins Hawk, and then fights Tory Sam, Tory wins.
“Okay, you know, some of that comes down to where we were before. Some of it comes from what the audience expects, and some of it is because we know where we’re going, “explained Josh Held. “And these three ways really affect how that story comes together. We always want to give the audience what they want and we always want to give them what they don’t expect. So we’re not just trying to say ‘you want dessert, here A piece of fish because it’s not exciting. But if we can make that dessert taste like you never imagined, it’s a win for us. “
“So, it starts with Tory and Sam,” Held continued. “It’s probably the biggest contender of the season. We are coming this season with unfinished business. There needs to be a fight between these two to overcome what is still between them. And for many other characters, it’s a more personal journey. There are ‘I hate you because you’re in Cobra Kai’, ‘I hate you because you’re in Miyagi Do’, ‘I hate you personally because of this.’ But it’s not rising to the level of Tory and Sam. “
“And so when it comes to combining the final fights and the brackets, we really wanted to be honest and invest in separating those fights,” he said. “The boys’ fight is really the action-packed, fair, high-powered philosophy of both of these boys. Each of them, for their own reasons, wants to overcome something. But it is not pure hatred from one side of the mat to the other. It is not a competitor for ages. It is the current heir of the Cobra Kai and the current power of Miyagi Do. With Sam and Tory, it’s really ‘we have to do it. This must happen. We have to win one. ‘ And then who wins, who loses, all these things where we know we’re going from season four to season five and beyond. And we want to make sure that we participate in the conflict in the best way possible. “
How did Carrie Underwood show up and why is she a “moment of truth?” Sing? Will they ever play “You’re the best?”
Cobra Kai There are now four seasons going on and in those four seasons where there have been two All Valley tournaments, the producers have yet to use The Karate KidIts most iconic song, Joe Esposito’s “You’re the Best”. In fact, in the fourth season, they used another song from the original film in the tournament, Survivor’s “The Moment of Truth”, without it being sung by country superstar Carrie Underwood. We need to know why that song was used instead of “You’re the Best” and how Carrie Underwood got involved.
“We obviously used the cover of ‘The Moment of Truth’ and Carrie Underwood the way ‘You’re the Best’ was used to get you through the qualifiers,” Schlossberg said. “And I think in that context, our reasoning behind not wanting to do ‘You’re the Best’ is, would it be better than the original movie? As such, I have already seen that. We don’t Anti To do something we’ve seen before, but it has to have some twists and turns, and without a twist there would be, ‘Okay, well, you’re going through it again. And hey, do you remember that song? ‘ So if we use ‘You’re the Best’, it’s going to be something that will pump you up and be great, but not exactly the same thing you’ve seen before. But we wanted to do this kind of thing in the tournament and we thought, ‘Moment of Truth’ is a song that, if you are a Karate Kid Fans, you know, but didn’t really like the way ‘You’re the best’ enters pop culture. But still, it’s a survivor. It features 80s rock anthem. And so it worked the same way. “
Schlossberg continued, “The bottom line is you have an example, ‘Well, we wanted to give that same energy vibe,’ like pushing you through the tournament.” “And, with Carrie, it was a situation where we already knew we wanted to be something like that in the tournament. We love the idea of that tournament board, the All Valley Tournament Board, on the same boat. How do we make it the biggest tournament ever?” It’s like, ‘Why not choose a surprise celebrity guest or a musical performance?’ And so that’s something that we were already thinking about. Then when Netflix aired Cobra Kai, He was the one who was vocal about love on Twitter Cobra Kai. So we are like ‘Oh my God’. We put the two and the two together, he sings Sunday night football Song, it makes a lot of sense for him to be someone who can sing, and he’s done a great job. “
