Eargo has been reliable Announcement A New model Its smart, almost-invisible Hearing aids A. Those The last few years now and the 2022 Yargo 6 launch is no exception. As usual, the small black buds absorb completely into the canal (CIC) form factor which allows them to remain almost completely out of sight. The “new” thing is inside.

The flagship feature with the Eargo 6 is called “Sound Adjust”. There is no reward for guessing what it does, but the company claims that its proprietary algorithm can automatically sense your surroundings and that hearing aids will automatically optimize themselves to give you the best settings for it. Profiles are a fairly standard feature in most hearing aids, but automatic switching is usually reserved for Expensive model, And they all do it with different levels of success, at least in my experience.

The difference here is that the Eargo 6 is much smaller than other products that offer similar technology. Being small is great, and is the main selling point here, but it means there is far less real estate to fill the sensors and chips. However, Eargo seems to be finding clever ways to balance their offerings with their (physically and figuratively) wider competition.

Of course, without a few COVID-related effects it wouldn’t be CES 2022. Over the past two years, people with hearing loss have faced a new challenge: conversing with masked people. Not only does it remove any visual feedback, it also pushes the word – a double whammy for those struggling to understand you. For example, the company has introduced a “mask mode” aimed at resolving some changes in the wording of the facial lining.

Other changes during this time include a modified Noise Reduction, which allows the company to punch the voice by further reducing the background noise. The Eargo 6 is also rated IPX7 for water resistance. This means it can be submerged for 30 minutes at a depth of one meter without loss of water. In practical terms, this means you can probably leave them on when you take a bath or go for a quick swim. Or, more logically, you can get some of them while cleaning them.

Since we’re not physically at CES this year, we haven’t been able to test them as we usually do, but a little hearing aid is only getting smarter and more useful if nothing happened in previous years. As usual, the Eargo 6 is being sold directly to consumers and will retail at $ 2,950. In terms of hearing aids it is about running rates for high-end models, although the company also offers financing options.
