Apple made that promise Siri will arrive on third party devices Back to the WWDC, and now it’s clear exactly what it will be like. Ecoby has launched an update that brings Siri Smart thermostat. You will need one Homepod mini To serve as a hub, but you can otherwise talk to an EcoBy device like your iPhone or Apple Watch – helpful if you want to set the temperature without first reaching the other device.
The update should reach all smartthermostat users “within the next few weeks.” The thermostat itself costs 250, although if you don’t have a homepod, you’ll have to factor in another $ 99.
Here’s an obvious strategy: Apple is using this kind of integration to increase homepod sales and increase Siri’s competition with rival voice assistants like Alexa and Google Assistant. However, it can still be interesting if you either invest deeply in Apple’s ecosystem or choose to take Smart Home Control more privacy-based.
