I have to agree with what Steve Jobs said in 2010 … Netbooks were really cheap laptops.

Don’t get me wrong, they had an appeal, but they seemed to be a short-term, temporary solution to a long-term problem. They were slow; They had small displays; Many of them had keyboards and even small trackpads. You often buy one because it was cheaper, not because it provides a great portable computing experience.

Jobs was right that tablets were good for a lot of people in that category, but I would add that the computer industry also needs time to reach decent laptops at affordable prices. Even with their software limitations, many Chromebooks are much better than netbooks. And you can buy some tough ‘complete’ Windows machines at the price used to occupy high-end netbooks.
