I can’t lie: I am a huge fan of Fujifilm Instax printers. I like Instax camera Very, but there are cases of their limited use, and most of the time I don’t want to carry it. I like to shoot with my phone or a mirrorless camera, and then print those pictures on an Instax printer.

As much as I like instax print, the original format is only 1.8 inches by 2.4 inches. It’s rather small, and it’s not a polaroid. The Square Instax format film is medium sized (2.4 inches square), but if you want Fujifilm’s largest format instax print (3.9 inches by 2.4 inches), you’ll need to buy a camera.

Was so far. The new Fujifilm Instax Link Wide smartphone printer brings the company’s biggest instant film to a standalone printer.

Instax for people

My first instax printer was an unmatched purchase that has become an integral part of how I interact with people when I travel. It also created interest in photography among my kids. It’s not perfect, but there’s something about the magic of instant printing that transcends its limitations. These are not gallery-worthy prints, but they are definitely fun.

I still use my old one Instax SP-1 printer. The print is a nice, small gift; They are a good icebreaker. I love taking pictures of people, but I’m not an outsider, so it’s hard to ask someone to take a portrait of them. This is especially difficult nowadays, when everyone assumes that you are going to put your picture on Instagram. If you can tell someone that you are not interested in social media and offer a print out of the picture from there, you often have a completely different conversation.

Even if you have no desire to travel or photograph strangers, there is something about body print that creates a larger connection between the scene and the image. You can’t just scroll to the next picture. Trust me: make a print. You will thank yourself on the street.

Part of why I prefer the new Instax Link Wide Printer. It makes the same great instax print, just bigger. 3.9-by-2.4-inch prints Landscape Oriented – The large edge of the white border is below the long edge, although that doesn’t stop you from printing if you prefer a portrait-based image.

Regardless of size, the Instax Link Wide Printer is a lot like Fujifilm Mini link. It is a relatively nondescript gray (or white) box, stacked up in the form of three CD cases. If you are under 30, it is 5.25 inches 4.75 inches and one inch thick. There is a single button at the top to turn it on and print the last image again. On the back you will find a USB port for charging (USB-C would be nice). You load the film below, turn it off, and communicate with it completely via the app, which is connected to the printer via Bluetooth.

Instax Wide App

New Instax Link Wide App for IOS And Android Really the heart of Instax Wide Printer. Fujifilm apps are a mixed bag, but lately instax has been improving. The new Wide app is similar in functionality to the Mini Link app that goes with the company’s latest mini printer. However, the layout is completely different, and in my opinion it is much clearer and easier to navigate.
