You no longer have to point your phone at your computer screen if you want to use it Google Lens On your computer. As part of a string of updates, Google has Published That lens will be available for desktop Chrome “in the coming months”. All you have to do is right-click on a website, search with the lens and select the part of the page you want to check. After that, you will get results related to the highlighted content. Needless to say, this can be helpful if you’re trying to identify an animal or a warm new jacket.

There are some upgrades coming to the lens on your phone. An update in early 2022 will allow you to ask a question after taking a picture. For example, if you know which part of your bike needs to be repaired, you will get results even if you don’t know what that part is. The Google app for the iPhone, meanwhile, lets you search for products in photos.

This is not a subtle effort to increase Google Shopping. You may be more likely to buy clothing or bike parts if you can identify them. Nevertheless, expansion can make lenses more useful as a general search tool, not just in special situations.
