Google sends assistant personalized audio news updates to the cemetery

If you like “Update Your News,” Google Assistant’s feature that creates a personalized audio news stream based on the company’s data you have, it’s time to say goodbye. Google has unexpectedly killed it in recent days, so it is no more.

The company has launched Update your news Designed to give each user a brief news update in 2019 as an algorithmic audio feed. Google’s updates were similar to NPR’s, providing hourly headlines in just a few minutes. To create your personalized news feed, Google has tapped all the information you have, such as your interests, location, user history and preferences, and selected licensed topic-specific stories from its partners. With the update, Google will introduce long-form content.

“We’re streamlining our audio news products to improve the user experience,” said a Google spokesperson. “People will still be able to get audio briefings through news briefings on Google Assistant.”

As Google mentioned above, this does not mean that you can no longer hear the news on Google Assistant. This means the company isn’t going through the hassle of trying to create a playlist with news of your choice. Instead, it will leave it up to you.
