“The Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX is the way we envision the future of electric vehicles,” said Ola Callenius, head of Mercedes-Benz.

Based on the automaker’s simulation, the Vision EQXX will use less than 10 kilowatt hours to travel 62 miles on public roads, providing efficiency of more than 6 miles per kilowatt hour. Converting to fossil fuel costs, Mercedes says it is closer to the “gold figure” of 1 liter of gasoline per 62 miles.

What’s more, Mercedes claims that 95 percent of battery power is directed towards the wheels.

Teams from Mercedes’ research and development center have worked on the concept with its Formula 1 and Formula E engineers. They have used digital tools to reduce waste and weight by cutting excess material – the wheels are made of magnesium and the brake discs are made of aluminum alloy. Vision EQXX also uses recycled and plant-based materials.


For the interior, the Vision EQXX’s infotainment system features a single 47.5-inch, mini-LED 8K screen. Like Hyperscreen At EQS, it covers almost the entire width of the cabin, although it is a one-piece display. The automaker has worked with the NAVIS automotive system on a navigation system with zoom and scroll functions to include a satellite view. While Vision did not bring EQXX to show off the Mercedes floor, the development of stylish concepts proved to be a worthwhile endeavor.
