Early NASA researchers Analysis Samples show that the Jijero crater had water for “a long time” – think for thousands or millions of years. This, in turn, indicates that the water on Mars was stable enough to make it relatively welcome in microscopic life.
The mission team identified important salts that could be formed when water flowed through the sample rock. Salt can not only be stuck in the old water pockets of Mars, but can preserve traces of life.
So far two specimens have come from a single rock. It will take a long time to get a better idea of the mystery of Mars. Perseverance will not even collect samples from its next location, the South Site, until after a week-long break, where all of the planet’s missions will move to a “protective” state by the end of Mars’ solar connection. The break should be effective for everyone in early October. Samples will not return to Earth until future missions collect samples.
Nevertheless, early data perseverance is good for the mission – the team has already discovered useful information about the history of Mars. These and other results can not only reshape humanity’s understanding of the planet, but also set the direction for it. Future Mars missions.
