A suicide bomber has killed at least five people, including a child, at a tea shop in the Somali capital, Mogadishu, police say.
Sadiq Dudishe, a police spokesman, said in a statement on Saturday: “At around 7:00 pm GMT, a suicide bomber often blew himself up in a tea shop.
“Six people, including four youths, a child and a suicide bomber, were killed. Four others were injured. The statement said.
An eyewitness said the bomber went among people who were drinking tea in an open space near a police station.
“As I was walking out of a restaurant a few hundred meters away from where the explosion took place, I was shocked by the explosion and it was huge. I saw people rushing to the spot and carrying the injured, ”said witness Ali Mohammad.
He added, “Police have cordoned off the area, but I saw several bodies taken in an ambulance, they were young, two of them from where my residents are,” he added.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
