The next Star Wars The streaming show to go into production centers Ahsoka Tano, and the show just added a director from a whole other multiverse. The Hollywood Reporter says Peter Ramsey, one of the three Oscar-winning directors of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verseis joining the Ahsoka show as a director on at least one episode.

Star Wars: Ahsoka is being written by Dave Filoni and produced by Jon Favreau, the same team behind The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett. There’s no word on what other directors might join Ramsey yet but one would assume Filoni, who directed the Ahsoka’s character’s live-action debut in season two of The Mandalorian, is likely to jump behind the camera. io9 reached out to Lucasfilm for comment or clarification and will update this story if and when we hear back.

Production on the show begins later this month in Los Angeles, CA, and though it’s unclear exactly what the show will be about, previous Star Wars stories have offered hints. Before appearing in live-action as played by Rosario Dawson, Ahsoka Tano (then voiced by Ashley Eckstein) was last seen on Star Wars Rebels. She and Sabine Wren set off on an adventure to find their friend, Jedi apprentice Ezra Bridger, who himself was last seen with Grand Admiral Thrawn. Now, it’s believed that Actress Natasha Liu Bordizzo has been cast as Sabine, and dialogue in Ahsoka’s Mandalorian The episode, “The Jedi,” revealed she was still looking for Thrawn. Since then, the character appeared briefly on The Book of Boba Fettfacilitating a visit from the Mandalorian to his pal, Grogu, who was with Jedi Master Luke Skywalker.

In addition to Dawson and Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Ivanna Sakhno, and Ray Stevenson are all expected to be on the show along with Hayden Christensen reprising his role as Anakin Skywalker — the same Anakin who was Ahsoka’s Jedi Master when the character was first introduced on the TV show, The Clone Wars.

None of which has to do with Peter Ramsey, of course, but it’ll certainly be in his head when he steps onto set. Since winning an Oscar for Into the Spider-Verse, the director has been getting into live-action and is even attached to do a vampire movie called Blood Count. And really, what better way to make a directing splash than in a hugely popular franchise like Star Wars?

We’re likely to learn more about Star Wars: Ahsoka next month at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim. It currently does not have a release date.

Correction: This article originally went up with the name “David” Ramsey, not Peter. We regret the error and it’s been fixed.
