Just a few months after we got our first look Square Enix has announced the release date at the Tokyo Game Show. It will hit PlayStation 4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X / S and PC on March 18th.

Strangers in Paradise: The Origin of Final Fantasy Ultimate Fantasy is an attempt to bring a Dark Souls-style feeling to the universe. This is from an action RPG Developer Tim Ninja will be quite tough by all those accounts, which suits the feeling like Souls.

A new trailer gives some hints in the story and peeks at some of the creatures you will encounter, including a pirate with a giant ax and a multi-headed monster. The visuals still look a bit rough, but at least Tim Ninja and Square Enix have a few months to polish things up.

Meanwhile, Square Enix has released a second demo. This is an extension of the first timed trial that was available in June, only this time you can play with your friends on PS5 and Xbox series X / S. There are more enemies to test your talents, new areas to explore and additional play styles and jobs to check out. The demo is available until 10:59 ET on October 11.

Strangers in Paradise: The Origin of Final Fantasy There is a free upgrade route from PS4 and Xbox One to PS5 and Xbox Series X / S, respectively. In addition to the base game, you can pre-order a digital deluxe version, which includes additional missions and a digital artbook and mini soundtrack. Pre-ordering any version will give you some gifts in the game, and you will have first access to the entire game 2 hours before the official launch.
