T-Mobile and Verizon have discontinued an iPad rebate program offered in partnership with Apple. A change Marked by MacRumors, The company’s website no longer lists promotions that previously allowed customers to save up to $ 200 by activating a cellular iPad through either of the two carriers.
The story is that Apple offered programs for the purchase of the iPhone and Apple Watch, and so on. Bloomberg Mark Gurman published in December. The article describes a lengthy process that he had to follow to claim a $ 100 discount Apple Watch 7. His initial request was rejected by T-Mobile, and the issue was resolved only after a “multiple hour” phone call and a final extension.
“Although my problems were with the T-Mobile, Verizon users are reporting similar problems, especially in the vicinity of the iPad rebates,” Gurman wrote at the time. In fact, you’ll find that a lot of people are talking about their own frustrations with his program Twitter mentioned. In short, T-Mobile and Verizon seem to have declined some waiver requests without providing much explanation for their activities. The terms of the promotion were also presented in a way that seemed much easier than their practice.
However, it is not clear whether the allegations prompted Apple, T-Mobile and Verizon to shut down the program. A spokesman for T-Mobile told Engadget: “The iPad rebate with Apple was a limited time offer that was on the market from April 2021 and ended on December 31.” “We are always looking for opportunities to give our customers the best deals on the device.”
We’ve also reached out to Apple and Verizon for comments. We will update this article when we hear back from them.
