The first in a special trilogy to end the time of Whitaker and Chibnal in the series will be “Eve”. The second special is meant to be released not too long after the first, and then the final special will be much later in the year. Chibnal will be transferred from there Shoranar to return Russell T. Davis, and the new doctor are currently keeping a secret. In a brief statement Doctor Who website, Shorer Chris Chibnall teases the madness of time travel for coming to a special holiday:
“We all need a little romance in our lives around the new year. Less so, Daleks. But the characters of Aisling Bea and Adjani Salmon have to deal with both on the eve of a New Year from hell. Together with Jody Whitaker’s Doctor, this will hopefully prove to be the perfect New Year’s Day tonic. “
