Apple’s latest pro-level notebooks are just over a week old and have already received a discount on Amazon. The 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros with the M1 Pro CPU have a 50 discount right now – which means you can get it 512GB 14-inch model $ 1,950 or so 512GB 16-inch version For 2,450. Is it a huge discount? No, but it’s significant for Apple’s new laptops whose price could be a big barrier to access for anyone. Both laptops will be shipped from tomorrow.
Despite the announcement last week, we were able to test the latest MacBook professionals and give them one Score of 92. Apple has solved a lot of people’s complaints about high-end laptops here, such as the lack of a port. Both machines have three Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI connector, a MagSafe power port, a headphone jack and an SD card reader. The only thing missing is a USB-A port, but it’s a small sacrifice to admit when you have a lot of connectivity options that your previous MacBook professionals didn’t have.
To keep these bibs of ports, the new MacBook Pros are thicker and a bit heavier than previous versions, but they’re portable (14 inches a bit longer than 16 inches). They have a beautiful Liquid Retina XDR display capable of reaching 1,600 nit brightness for mini-LED backlighting. They also support 120Hz refresh rates with promotions, which will protect your eyes from getting tired after scrolling through documents and web pages for hours. The webcam notch is also a noticeable difference, although it may be a bit disappointing, but at least the 1080p webcam is a big upgrade from the previous model’s 720p camera.
Surprisingly, the new MacBook professionals have great performances. Although the M1 chipset on last year’s laptop became a bit smaller in terms of heavy duty creative work, the M1 Pro processors have remedied it and we think SSDs among these professionals are also fast. While those who need serious power for 3D rendering and similar work may still want to consider machines with a dedicated GPU, others will find the power provided in the new MacBook Pros to be more than enough. And they are also long-lasting – the 14-inch model survived more than 12.5 hours in our experiment, while the 16-inch machine lasted more than 16.5 hours. If you knew during Apple’s event last week that the latest MacBook Pro was a laptop for you, now is a good time to take it while saving a few dollars in the process.
