A U.S. Capitol police officer was injured Friday after a car struck them in a new attack on a congressional seat, causing the building and surrounding offices to be locked down.
U.S. Capitol Police in a tweet called it a “critical incident” and confirmed that it had responded to the attack on Constitution Avenue north of the U.S. Capitol building.
“One suspect is in custody. Both officers were injured. All three have been taken to hospital, ”the USCP said.
