This holiday season, Twitter has decided that it wants to shop, so it is partnering with one of the largest retailers in the area: Walmart. The retailer is turning the social media platform into its own version of QVC for just one day this weekend, just in time to start Cyber Monday fever.

William White, chief marketing officer at Walmart US, said Twitter is a platform where retailers consistently see “high returns across top- and mid-of-funnel content.” So, hosting a shopping livestream on Twitter was a “natural next step”.
“Discovery and inspiration can happen anywhere, and we want to make sure we meet our customers where they are,” White said in a statement. Shopping Livestream is probably not the only new feature you’ll probably see on Twitter this holiday season. The social media platform says it plans to launch its new one Shop module, Which allows businesses to sell featured items on their Twitter profiles to more merchants in the coming weeks.
