2021 was a year of economic recovery – but also a year of supply chain bottlenecks, rising inflation and Omicron.
Mass vaccinations, advances in antiviral drugs and facilitating restrictions. 2021 provided an opportunity for many countries to reverse some of the economic losses caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
But the opening of businesses and the return to normal life also brought numerous setbacks, such as the rising cost of living.
Despite the challenges, hopes for the new year ran high, until the Omicron variant and access to vaccines changed the calculus again.
